Reviewing: Ellis Island Museum

The museum on Ellis Island is well worth the time if you are visiting the New York City Area. You can get on the boat from either Newark, New Jersey or from Battery Park in New York City. The boat stops at both the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island. While you are on Ellis Island you start by going into a room that allows you to try and look for some information on your family. As you move through the museum you go into the main room that the immigrants entered. It's amazing to see how large this room was and how intimidating it must have been to people that had just traveled from Europe and didn't speak English. The top floor of the museum has many exhibits showing items that people brought with them.It was very interesting to go through these exhibits and look at the things people felt they couldn't leave behind when they came to the United States. If you go to New York, take the time and visit Ellis Island, it's worth it.
