We like to have a lot of potted plants on our deck in the summer. These embossed foam planters we found at Big Lots are perfect. They look just like real clay or ceramic pots, but they are really made out of a foam material and painted to look like the real thing.
The reason I like these better than the real thing is that they are so lightweight, especially compared to clay pots. The other advantage is that I can leave them out all winter with the soil still in them and they will not crack or break like clay or ceramic pots will do. We got these pots that measure 13" x 10 1/2" for only $6.00. We would have to pay a lot more than that for the real thing.
The only negative I have found is that they can be scratched or knicked, but I have not found much damage on any of ours and the ones that have a noticeable knick, I have just used a little paint on it and you can't even notice it.

These planters found at Big Lots are a steal and if they only last a year - who cares they were only $6.00 - wow - now that's great shopping and a great product! I will stopping by Big Lots in the spring!!
