Reviewing: Englander Tranquility Collection
Purchased at: Local Mattress Store     Price: $200.00 USD

I sleep on an Englander queen-sized mattress. Englander is a solid company with more than a century in building mattresses, and everything they make is made in the USA, specifically Oregon. The mattress I sleep on falls under the Tranquility Collection. It's not the most exquisite mattress around because of it's coil/spring design -- I've had better sleeps in three-star hotels -- but I definitely can recommend it.

The highlights of this mattress are its firmness, its durability and its quality. I prefer a firm bed.

The Englander Tranquility collection has a padded top, which makes it extra-comfortable. The springs are not noticeable.

In three years of use, this mattress is yet to compress or buckle, and it has not ripped apart.

It is strong enough to keep its shape, and it is firm enough to get a good night's sleep. Some mattresses feel cheap or flimsy - this is solid.

My only complaint with this mattress is actually that it is a little too firm. You don't sink in to the mattress. It is solid, though, and you are definitely able to get a good night's sleep.

From what I can tell, Englander has discontinued its Tranquility collection. If you see one, though, you will be assured of a good deal.

In a world of Sealy, Simmons, and Serta, you don't hear about Englander because they do not advertise heavily. They make a fine product, though.
