Eos Rebel Xt Awesome Choice For An Slr By GMiz on - Updated Oct 15, 2011

I bought this camera in the summer of 2006, and since then it has traveled with me to London, Scotland, Dublin, Paris, the foothills of the Andes in northern Argentina, Buenos Aires, New York, and beyond. I knew next to nothing about digital photography going into it, but the camera is very user-friendly and in no time I was snapping gorgeous photos with the auto settings. As the years have continued, however, I've been extremely pleased with how adaptable and expandable the camera is... as my expertise has grown, so has the accomodation of this camera. I now know enough to shoot in all-manual mode, and the camera's menus are easy to navigate as you set everything from white balance to shutter speed to the aperture. You also, of course, can switch out lenses. The kit lens it comes with is flexible, but the ability to hook up nearly any Canon lens to the body is great. You get 8MP resolution, a compactflash slot (you can find storage up to 4gigs now in that format), and a very durable body. This thing was bouncing around on my back, no case, for hours of horseback riding and it did just fine. It's one of the more affordable SLRs and it's an amazing camera-- professional level. I hate to go anywhere without it.
