Epson Cx3200 By Lafawnduh on - Updated Sep 18, 2011

I purchased the Epson CX3200 in hopes of acquiring an easy to use and proficient multifunction inkjet printer. Overall, I would deem the CX3200 successful in completing moderate quality prints and scans. The design is somewhat compact although it is somewhat rickety in regards to build quality. The interface is very simple with a rudimentary monochrome lcd display allowing for control of scanning, photocoping and printing. The quirks of this printer are what ultimately made me regret the initial purchase. Most notably, the ink cartridges must be reprogrammed if empty if you want to purchase a simple ink refill. Otherwise, you will need to purchase a full cartridge which is quite costly. The reprogramming device costs around $20. Furthermore, I have found that after about 2 years of moderate use, the inkhead has become almost totally blocked. As well, scanning at low dpi resolutions has degraded substantially. Overall, an OKAY buy in the first year of use.
