Reviewing: Epson Picture Mate Snap Personal Photo Lab Printer
Purchased at: Best Buy.Com     Price: $89.99 USD

I bought this for myself about a year after I got my digital camera. Before that I was using my old HP desktop inkjet printer to get my digital prints. It was kind of a hassle to get the size I wanted, and the ink seemed expensive. I also didn't like having to cut all my pictures down to 4x6 when I used regular photo paper. It just seemed so simple to have a printer dedicated to this task. This printer is just the right size for my desk, it doesn't take up too much room. I was skeptical at first, but I was pretty impressed by the print quality produced. It prints a lot faster than my regular inkjet printer. It is pretty user friendly. I recommend using only the Epson brand photo paper, I get the best results with this. I really haven't done the math to figure out the cost per prints (in comparison to say Walmart digital printing) but it is so much more convenient because Walmart (or any other place I can get digital prints) is over 30 miles away.

Hmmm I think you are on to something here. I think it costs too much with the ink on my regular printer. It's a photo printer but still it's expensive. I have to waste alot of photo paper too when I only want certain sizes. Thanks for the tip!

The convenience of being able to make a small number of prints on demand is worth a lot!

I have seen this & have been toying with getting it-I'm like Tink-I tend to waste so much paper when I want different sizes-I might have to revisit thinking about your printer!

I am looking into getting a special printer for photos. This sounds like a great option. Thanks for sharing this information.
