Epson Stylus Photo R260 Printer By mizdiz on - Updated Oct 15, 2011

I bought a new printer because I felt my current one was losing some of the quality. This has great quality and prints very colorful photos. My main purpose for getting a printer was not to print photos, though, so I probably should have gotten something else. I do like this printer because it does print fast and I can change the quality of the print. I can tell it to just print in grayscale or I can tell it to print a fast draft, thus using less ink. I have only had it for 2 months and I can not figure out how to make it do a true, clear black when printing an image. For instance, I have PDF documents that I print and they always come out kind of black/brown. If I am just doing a letter from Word, it is a true black.

One of the other features I like is that it has 6 ink cartridges, one for each color and every time I print, it shows me a guage on how much ink is left on each cartridge. One down side is that if you need to replace all of the cartridges at once, it can be quite expensive. At Fry's the individual cartridges were $12.99, except black, which was $16.99. When I was at SAMS, I found a package that had all cartridges, including black, for $64.99.
