Epson Stylus TX 111 - A great Printer, Copier and Scanner

I have used various brands of printers at work, including Epson. I have had a use-and-throw policy with these printers, and when they are no longer functional, I replace them. I feel its wiser to buy a new one than to go to the hassle of repairing them. On several occasions, when I got the message that the ink absorber is full, I knew its time I replaced the printer.

It used to be a hassle to photocopy important documents at work. Also, I was quite handicapped, when I had to scan and email some important documents to someone. So, a few months back, when I had to replace my printer, I opted for an all-in-one printer, scanner and a photocopier. My boss agreed, made a few calls and placed the order for one.

The next morning, the driver came with a big well-packed box with an Epson Stylus TX111 the three-in-one printer. I easily installed it with the CD that it came with. Due to some pending work, it took me some time, though, before I could actually start to use it.

I tried the scanning functionality first. It was working fine except for a band that was appearing all along the length of the page. The photo copy also had the same dark band. Even though I could read the document, the thick dark black margin made it look messy and also took up a lot of ink. I contacted the service center and sought their help.They told me that I had to bring the printer to their service center, because Epson does not do on-site servicing. It was quite upsetting, but it had to be done. They called me back to inform me, that it was defective and their technicians couldnt fix it, and it needed a replacement. To my disbelief they sent a new printer in a matter of a few hours.

I was extremely happy with the service.

Most importantly, I have been using the printer since and without any glitch so to mention.

The TX111 all-in-one printer has considerably reduced the daily hassle that I used to face at work with respect to scanning, copying and printing. The printing quality is really good, nearly as good as a laser printer. It helps achieve maximum print resolution and also I can customize the ink usage as per my requirement. It is multifunctional, affordable and specially designed for home or small office use.

Down side

The printing speed is little slower than the other printers I have used

It is a bit noisy when it prints. The noise could be off putting at times.

The draft mode is too light to be legible.

It consumes more ink than the other Epson models
