Equate Chlortabs
By Sparkle333 onSince I take many prescription medications, I have to be concerned about interactions, as well as side effects from over the counter medications. I have high blood pressure, so I can't take decongestants. Therefore, I rely heavily on antihistamines, though I have heard that those can raise your blood pressure also. So it's kind of hit and miss with those.
This has been a really difficult allergy season for me. I have coughed a lot at night, and experienced a stuffy nose, and watery red eyes. In general, my sinuses have had a workout. I have been using Benadryl for quite some time, but thought I would try something else for a change. One of the antihistamines that I tried wasEquate Chlortabs. I preferred these over some of the other name brand products that could only be taken every 12 hours. This product can be taken every 4 to 6 hours.
The active ingredient is Chlorpheniramine maleate 4 mg.I find that it does help me, particularly during the day, and I haven't noticed as much drowsiness as I get with Benadryl (though I'm still a big fan of Benadryl, particularly as a sleep aid.) I am hoping that this will be a breakthrough drug for my allergies.

I always have the craziest, creepiest dreams when I have taken Benedryl, It's nice to know of an alternative that I can try. Great review.
