Equate Deep Cleansing Astringent By Lorianna on - Updated Oct 15, 2011

Equate Deep Cleansing Astringent is an alcohol-based skin cleanser that also has salicylic acid to treat acne. While I do not have acne, I was attracted to this product when I read the words "oil-fighting" on the bottle. Some areas of my face tend to be oily in the morning, so I was looking for a good cleanser to take care of that. This one works great, leaving my face clean and refreshed. The cleanser is pink in color and has a medium-strong pleasant fragrance. The scent almost immediately goes away though. Since this product tends to dry the skin, it is recommended to start using in once a day, then increase application to 2-3 times a day (if you have acne; just for cleansing, once-a-day application works fine, from my experience.). If the skin feels overly dry or starts peeling, application needs to be reduced. I have never had these problems.
