Equate Extra Strength Pain Reliever By Willow By Willow on - Updated Sep 26, 2011
I have had mixed results with Equate Extra Strength Pain Reliever pills. Seeing that it contained the same active ingredient as Tylenol (Acetaminophen), I had tried switching to it because it was considerably cheaper. The first several times I had taken these pills for my headaches, I experienced little or no relief. Tylenol, on the other hand, would help within 10-15 minutes. I have no explanation for this; it is basically the same stuff, only with a different price tag, so why such a difference? Later on, my body seemed to have adjusted to Equate Pain Reliever as I continued to take it. I have had better results. Today, I take it for minor headaches and muscle pain. It does help if I manage to take the pills just when the pain begins. However, for strong persistent headaches I still have to use Tylenol.

I find some of the generics to be hit or miss as for quality vs the name brand. I can't say that I have tried this one, thanks for the info.
I agree. I've had hit and miss results as well, but for minor aches and pains, you can't go wrong... not at that price!
I get headaches but being pregnant all I am allowed to take is Tylenol. We got the Equate brand and sometimes it worked and sometimes it didn't. Tylenol isn't strong enough for my bad headaches but if I could catch it before it really got going the Equate brand seemed to work just as well for me.
Sorry to hear about your persistent haedache . Seems the medicine does work for you, which is good. Thanks for sharing.
I like this pain reliever. It works as well as the same strength tylenol for me.
