E.T. was such a lovable character, and the movie about him is equally as lovable. He is a little alien stranded on earth, and all he wants is to go home. The movie centers on his escapades on earth and the efforts of the children who find him and who want desperately to help him get home before the authorities can reach him and keep him trapped on earth for research purposes.

The movie stars Dee Wallace, Peter Coyote, Drew Barrymore and Henry Thomas. It is 2 hours and 1 minute long and rated PG. I have the 2-disc Limited Collector's Edition, loaded with special features. Some of these features include an introduction by Steven Spielberg, a live performance by John Williams (composer of the E.T. soundtrack), The Evolution and Creation of E.T., the theatrical premiere in 2002, and lots more.

This is such a touching and heartwarming movie, one that I'm sure will please kids and adults alike. A must have in your DVD collection if you like good movies.
