Eureka Altima Vacuum By wahmamy on - Updated Sep 18, 2011

I bought the red Eureka Altima when we moved into our new home. I have a dog, a cat and two kids under the age of 4. I have bought many vacuum over the years and have yet to find one that works well with the animal fur. Having children and pets I have to vacuum daily to keep the carpets clean. Our new home was all new carpet and everytime I vacuumed the fibers in the carpet were clogging the vacuum. It worked well for the first couple months but now it smells like burn rubber and does not pick up any debris from the floor. I have opened it up to examine the belt but it is in tact. It is easy to dump the empty cup with no messy filter. It was a really great price and it had the Good Housekeeping Seal so I thought it would be a great buy, however the quality was not there. I bought in April and I need a new one now in December. It would be great for light vacuuming only, not for a house that is pretty much all carpet.
