Anyone who has even the most fleeting interest in soccer will realize that the European Championships are currently taking place in Austria/Switzerland and to commemorate the event, EA Sports had released their latest piece of sports gaming brilliance.
Just about every country in Europe you can think of, plus those you didn't even know existed, are featured in the game, all of them rendered in amazingly detailed graphics.
The gameplay is smooth and surprisingly easy to grasp and holds very true to the look and feel of the sport. There are a number of different gameplay options such as, playing in the actual tournament, leading the country of your choice through qualifying and onto the finals and, my personal favorite, a carrer path wherein you create your own player and work your way up the pro ranks. I am currently a mammothly muscled specimen peddling my soccer wares for Scotland.
EA Sports never cease to amaze with their sports games and they just seem to get better with each passing year. Euro 2008 is a great gift for the soccer fan in your family.
