Everybody's Happy With The Fit, At Least! By ohthethinksyouwillthink on - Updated Oct 15, 2011

Shopping for bridesmaid's dresses can be hard--and especially so when the sizes you need range from 2-12!

While dress shopping, I fell in love with Alfred Angelo's line of Bridesmaid Coordinates. I thought it would be great to have my girls in styles that matched their personalities, while still keeping a fairly uniform look.

It may be difficult to tell by the picture, but each girl is wearing a different top. One is a halter. Another has beaded spaghetti straps. One has organza "tied" around the top and flowing gracefully down the back. And my maid of honour is wearning a white top with a little bow around the waist to match the skirt. I chose the skirt and the colour; the girls did the rest, and were all really happy with how their dresses fit. Sadly for them, not all of them are fans of purple. Ah well, what can you do?

The Alfred Angelo coordinates boast 13 skirts and 28 tops in 46 colours! Plus, like my maid of honour, the tops and bottoms do not all have to be the same colour. Nor do they have to be the same size. That's a lot of mixing and matching options! At the end of the day, I'm convinced that this is the best way to get just the right size. Everyone, right down to my size 2, 15-year-old sister, found her perfect fit.

The catalogue prices these at $140 USD per set. My girls paid around $200 CAD for theirs. I noticed that the price varried a bit depending on which bridal shop I ordered them through, so be sure to shop around!

Oh, I like how everything was coordinated, yet allowed each person to express some individuality!

We did the same thing when I got married 3 years ago. My maid of honor was a size 20 and one of my bridesmaids was a size 2. This is a great option.

They look lovely! And they should be able to wear them again for something, and important point when you spend that much for a dress! Just tell them everyone looks good in purple!

Well I think they all looked beautiful, anyway. :) I do hope they can get some more wear out of them. Being two-piece, they could wear the top with dress pants or the skirt with a cute cardigan to get some different looks out of it.
