Expo Dry Erase Markers By seasideevns on - Updated Oct 15, 2011

My family uses dry erase markers quite regularly. I originally bought Expo Original Dry Erase Markers and found the odor to be too much for me. I was very pleased with the markers otherwise, so when I saw they had created a low odor marker I had to try them.

I bought the largest package they had which held 14 colors. The colors included were: green, aqua, light blue, dark blue, purple, red, yellow, orange, brown, pink, lime green, black, and sea green. The packaging was easy to get into and there wasn't much wasted plastic or cardboard. They are a product of the USA.

The odor is still quite strong, but not nearly as strong as the originals. I am able to work with them through out the day and not have any adverse effects. The colors are still as vibrant and the quality is still excellent.

I use the chisel point tips, but they also come in bullet tip and fine tip. They are easy to use and don't cause any discomfort to the hand even when used frequently. The size is just large enough to be comfortable, but not so large that is causes clumsy writing.

These markers are non-toxic so they are safe to have around children. The only problem I have with them is they do not come off any porous surface which includes clothing and other fabrics. They will come off glass or other non-porous surfaces somewhat easily. There were a few surfaces a damp sponge wasn't enough, but a little glass cleaner did the trick.

Overall, I am very pleased with the low odor Expo Dry Erase markers. I allow my son to play with them on occasion with the understanding he has to wear play clothes at the time and whatever ink gets on his skin will have to wear off vs. wash off.
