Exuviance Night Renewal HydraGel is a white creamy light-textured lotion. I definitely wouldn't call it a gel, per se. It has a subtle, fresh, almost fruity smell. The scent wears off after wearing the HydraGel for a minute or two. The lotion is silky and easily absorbed. When applied, it has very easy spreadability. In fact, that was a standout of the product. Moreover, I didn't need a lot of product to cover my face either. Putting HydraGel on before bed was a pleasure, as it felt smoothing and cool on my face.
After application and once dry, I'd say two minutes after I applied product, I felt my face and thought my cheeks felt a little dry. My nose and forehead felt very hydrated. My cheeks did feel smooth, but they felt drier than I would have liked.
NOTE: I have combination skin. My forehead and nose is oilier than my cheeks. Also, I have dry patches that crop up, at times, under my lips. After five or ten minutes, I noticed a very slight itchy feeling which may have been from the AHAs in the product. This went away quickly. At one point, I rubbed my nose and some dead skin cells rubbed off onto my finger. Under my lips, the HydraGel moisturized the dry patches efficiently, so that they were imperceptible.
In summary: this was a pleasurable moisturizer and an efficient exfoliant. I would use it again!
