We have now refinanced our home several times through Fairway Independent Mortgages. The great thing about them is that they will accept most credit histories, even those with some not-so-great things on them. They will work with you to find out the best type of home loan for your needs. They actually do the shopping around for you. You don't have to call around to all those banks to see who has the best rate, and have each of them pull your credit score, causing further damage. The employees at Fairway will be honest with you and sincerely try to help. Each time that we have refinanced, whether it was to secure equity for remodeling or to lower our interest rate, we have benefited from dealing with Fairway. They have always been professional and courteous. They do offer many plans for first time home buyers as well that offer low or no down payments. The fees that they charge can sometimes be higher than I like, but I know they are in it to make money too, and the benefits to me outweigh their fees.
