Falls Creek Pleated Shorts- Good Looks and Comfort
By Joan Young onMy favorite shorts are dying, so I went in search of something that actually looks decent enough to wear in public. They needed to be comfortable or I knew that I would just wear the old raggedy shorts anyway. But they also need to look nice enough to wear to summer meetings, etc.
These were on sale (5.99 marked down from 14.99) at Meijer, and I decided to try them on.Yes, they are mens shorts, but yes, I usually have to buy guys pants to fit me.I was surprised at how nice they looked, because front pleats arent always flattering for me. Fit is such an individual thing, but Im really happy with these.
These are 100% cotton, made in Indonesia. They have a YKK zipper and a button. The back pockets are set-in dress pant style, with button closures. The front pockets are set in the side seams and are nice and deep. There are 5 belt loops.Id prefer 7, but I suppose you cant have everything.
I would have been happier to find a navy blue pair, but these are an olive green-brown which looks nice with tops in shades of either of those colors, yellow, or white.Orange would work too, but I dont like orange. They will be a nice color for autumn.
These are size 30 waist, and the inseam is 8 inches, so they are a good conservative bermuda length on short-legged little me. The legs are cut with plenty of room, I dont like pants that are tight on the legs. The fabric is a medium-weight twill. It is not exactly brushed, but it is very soft and comfy, not stiff at all.
OK, Im still wearing my old ragged favorites around the house, but these are working great for other occasions.
