Farberware Knife Set By J Montano on - Updated Oct 15, 2011

This set of Farberware knives was a gift given to me when I first moved out on my own.

This set consists of a pairing knive, 2 large knives, kitchen sissors, and 8 steak knives. It all comes in a plastic caddy that sits on your counter for easy storage and assesability.

This is certainly not my favorite set of knives, but they have served me well. These are light weight knives with plastic handles. The blades don't go all the way through the handle, so the construction is not very good. They chop and so forth fairly well, but not nearly as well as other knives on the market, ie Wustof or Cutco. If you you are not really into cooking and just want a simple, inexpensive set of knives, then this would probably be a good set. If you love to cook and want a precision instrument, look elsewhere.

I have used the sissors and the steak knives extensively. This is the only pair of kitchen sissors I have and I think they work fairly well. The steak knives are simple, but effective.

I probably wouldn't buy this set again. I'd look for something of better quality.
