Fellowes Gel Wrist Rest- Good Feel, Good Price

Reviewing: Fellowes Keyboard Wrist Rest
Purchased at: Sts Computers     Price: $12.00 USD

This ergonomic wrist rest for straight keyboards is just the perfect height and comfort level for me.

The outer shape of this product has been changed slightly since I purchased my wrist rest, but everything else seems the same. This is a 19-inch pad, so it fits in front of a standard keyboard that has a number pad.Mine is 3.5 inches at its widest point, and about 1 inch high at its highest point.

The outer edges of mine are a rubbery black plastic and the middle is a black knit lycra with gel filling.

I do not like to have my hands flat to the keyboard when typing, and my computer set-up is a bit awkward due to lack of space. This wrist pad works well with both of those issues. It simply sits in front of the keyboard and raises my hands a bit while typing.I like the feel of the gel.

The fabric panel has lasted well- it has no worn spots.Mine has to be about 8 years old at this point.

The only issues I have with this product are that some dust balls seem to collect in the groove where the fabric fits into the edging piece, although they are not too difficult to clean out.And it occasionally will slip off the front of my desk. Some pads have a thin base that slips under the whole keyboard.Something like this would keep it in place a little better, but this has certainly not been a huge problem. Occasionally pet hairs (or human... but pet hairs are stiffer) will get stuck in the lycra fabric. But Ive always been able to brush or pull them out.

I believe that this is comparable to the current Fellowes 9178201 model, although that one is a full inch narrower.I cant assess whether that would make much difference or not.It might, if you have large hands.

Good quality product if it's lasted 8 years! If the worst issue is dustballs, I think I can deal with that. I should get one for my office desk.

I need to get one of these to use at work because I type at a computer for 12 hours a day so I know it's only a matter of time before I start to feel the damage. What a great price too, I think I can afford $12.

This sounds like it would make working at the computer a whole lot more comfortable. A wrist rest is certainly important if you are going to spend much time at the computer. Thanks for sharing this information.
