Fess Parker As Daniel Boone By JOEY on - Updated Oct 15, 2011

Talk about a blast from the past. I know that this might not be everyone's cup of tea so to speak but as a boy I was always fascinated with this show. It showed up in 1964 and myself and my friend Robbie across the street watched that show every week without fail. We would always talk about it and run through the woods pretending we were some of the actors from this show.

I had been watching amazon.com for the chance to buy this and finally they came out with it. I jumped on the opportunity although I am not sure at this point what I did pay for it. I do remember it being pretty reasonable. In this show Ed Ames did a fine job of playing his indian companion Mingo. Patricia Blair played Rebecca Daniel Boone's wife. The whole cast did a wonderful job with this show. It left a lasting impression with me over the years. It is one of those series that you can just never get out of your mind.

These were digitally restored and remastered. There are 28 episodes in black & white. Mine is season one. A very nice way to bring back the past great shows of yesterday. Fess Parker was the right choice for this series to play the part of Daniel Boone.
