Fieldcrest Bath Towels, Another Cheap Towel! By ferret on - Updated Oct 15, 2011

While looking for some decent inexpensive towels I picked up a set of Fieldcrest Classic Towels at Target. They were a big disappointment.

The towel I am reviewing is a Fieldcrest Classic 30" by 58" 100% cotton bath towel made in India. The color is oil green. I guess the name should have warned me that these towels would be better suited as oil absorbers in a car repair shop rather than something fluffy you would reach for after a shower.

When I was checking out towels in Target this Fieldcrest Towel looked nice and absorbant. At 9.99 I was not expecting perfection but was still surprised that this towel started to unravel at the sides after only the fourth washing. I also noticed pilling and some hanging strings. I will not be buying any more Fieldcrest towels and do not recommend them.

It seems like it is next to impossible to find good towels that don't start to look horrendous after a few washings. Why can't anyone make decent towels?
