Filezilla By Samuel Rajkumar on - Updated Oct 15, 2011

Filezilla FTP client is popular free, open source FTP client. I never liked the File manager in Cpanel. Because it won't let me upload folders directly. It allows files only. Suppose I have a folder in which we have several subfolders then we must create all those folders and subfolders manually and then upload the files separately for each folder. This is hectic job and time wasting thing. Thanks to FTP clients because they will automatically create all subfolders. All I have to do just select a folder and click upload, FTP client will take care of everything. I have been using Filezilla from day one I created my own website. Filezilla is my favorite client. It has all the features that are essential for most of the webmasters. It has all features that I want and I have been using Filezilla on both Windows XP professional SP3 and Linux. On Windows Filezilla has done pretty good job. But on Linux it has some bugs. I successfully uploaded files onto the remote server successfully but I was unable to download files from server onto my computer. Also the speed of uploading in Linux is way too fast than Windows version of Filezilla. Filezilla is regularly updated which fixes several bugs and adds new features. Other free FTP clients that do a pretty good job are CuteFTP.

We use Filezilla ALL the time. It's a great way to transfer large files from one computer location to another. Highly recommend and it's FREE
