Filtz it ! wool for Needle Felting

I have been a teddy bear artist for over 5 years now, making fully jointed adult collectors teddy bears.I was very impressed when i saw needle felt minature teddy bears for sale on e bay. I decided to look into this hobby, and quickly learned how to do it. I began by buying myself a ball of merino wool which is labelled as flitz it wool. This wool is very fine - i would describe it as unsimilar to candy floss. To achieve your bear you need to pull off some wool from the ball and felt it with a very fine specially designed needle. The wool will go hard and sort of mould to the shape that you require. Merino wool is available in all shades of colour, even candy stripes of different colours within one ball. To felt you need a block of foam to use as a surface for your wool - while inserting the very sharp needle. I have purchased this wool in some very sriking and beautiful colours. The wool is approximately 1.25 for a 25 gram ball. I bought my wool and extras from my local craft shop called Abakhan fabrics, which also has a great website.
