Finally Something that Works- The Works Tabs

Ive been trying to find a product that would remove stains from the toilet bowl, without much success.But The Works toilet tabs are making a significant difference.
Our toilet became badly stained as a result of hard water and the overuse of some of those blue toilet tabs.Nothing Ive tried to date has done much to reduce either the dark blue or rusty marks inside the bowl.It was downright ugly looking, and depressing to scrub faithfully and still have it look so bad.
About six weeks ago I bought The Works bleach automatic toilet bowl cleaner tabs.In just four weeks there was a noticeable improvement.They come packaged two tabs to to a box, and each tab is wrapped in a lined packet.You open the packet and drop the tab under the float where it sits and dispenses the product until it dissolves away.You are not supposed to touch the tabs with your hands, and wash after even handling the packets.
This is a strong oxidizing agent trichloro-s-triazinetrione.The available chlorine is 59%.In other words these are much stronger than household bleach.There are all kinds of warnings about getting it on your skin, eyes, even your clothing.As such, it bleaches and kills germs.There is a faint odor of bleach in the bathroom, but I dont mind that a bit.It is not strong and smells clean to me.
They do claim that each tablet will last up to 11 weeks.I found that the first one only lasted 4 weeks, and it looks like the second one will last just about as long.
It says it is safe for septic systems... sure hope so because thats what we have.It also says it is safe for colored toilets.Its cleaning the inside of the tank as well as the toilet bowl.
These are a little more expensive than I would like, but the fact that they actually are working makes them a total winner.I will buy these again for sure.The bowl isnt completely white (yet?), but the blue is definitely reduced to light blue, and the rust stains are disappearing.Im very pleased.
I've never had to contend with hard water issues but know of people who do - I'll have to mention this to them and hopefully they can find this product here - glad it works so well. Thanks for the info.
Here's another idea - get rid of as much water in the bowl as you can and slowly pour a 2-liter bottle of Coca Cola in there. Let it sit for 24 hours. You will be stunned.
