Fireplace is Nice In The Bedroom

Last winter we purchased this electric heater. We saw it in the store and at that time had no intentions of buying one. But the store owners had it turned on and it struck me as a unique kind of electric fireplace. The flames looked so comforting and real. Not like most electric fireplaces that I have seen. My husband said that it is because the flames are created with a special bulb. I am not sure what bulb. It also has a built-in thermostat that allows you to set the heat to your comfort level. Plugs into a 120-volt household outlet. This unit 4500 BTU output. Friends of ours seen it and and fell in love with it. They went out and purchased one for their bedroom. These fireplaces are not meant for a regular heating sourse through the dead of winter but are really beautiful, comfortable and add warmth in the cool winter months. These are very romantic to have in any bedroom too. The only thing I dont like about this unit is that I find the cord gets warm at the plug end.
I would love to have something like this in our bedroom! That's great that you can adjust the built in thermostat!
Because that cord is getting warm at the plug end, I'd call the store or manufacturer and ask them if it is a fire hazard. Normally this means that too much voltage is coming through the wall though, so maybe your utility company can come out and check it. It is very good looking and a beautiful way to put heat and romance in a room:)
