This First Alert Weather Band AM/FM Radio made by Sima products Corp. takes two Double AA Batteries which are inserted in the back panel. It has a handle that easily folds away. It is a lightweight unit. It is portable and can be taken anywhere on trips, camping, in a motor home or keep it in your car or home. The front of the radio has a speaker. There is an on and off button in the front of the radio. The see through panel displays the availibale channels and the word NOAA weather radio is also visable. The two red dots will let you know if you are low on battery power. The right side has a volume control and the left side also has a phone jack. The large button on the right side helps select channels. This radio has a fairly clear sound but is sometimes staticy. Nevertheless, it will warn you of bad weather and could possibly save your life. This radio stands on its own because it has two velcro tip mini legs. I have taken this product with me in the car when the weather seemed threatening so I could be aware of what was going on in my area. When the weather was good I enjoyed listening to the radio.

This is great to have during tornado season. I always worry that one would hit at night and have no warning!
This is definitely a good things to have handry during storms. For what ou paid for this, it would even be good to have a few of them around!
Sounds like a great thing to have around the house, especially in case of bad weather. We live in tornado alley, so maybe we should look into something like this. :) Thanks for sharing your experience with this radio!
