First Impressions, By Nora Roberts By Cyn Bagley on - Updated Oct 15, 2011
When I need some light reading, I always go for Nora Roberts. She has the light romance down pat. Roberts is also a very prolific writer, who writes in two genres and several sub-genres. In this case, "First Impressions" is a story of a Vance Banning, who is a wealthy business man. He went to the rural countryside to get away from gold-diggers.
Of course when he meets Shane Abbott, despite the name-- Shane is a girl, romantic sparks fly. Shane is turning her inheritance into an antique shop. Since Shane doesn't know that Vance owns a construction company, she does not find it incongruous that she would offer him work as a carpenter. Vance does know the work.
As you can tell, this story is the typical "misconception" romance, but with the Roberts touch.
Also, once you finish "First Impressions," there is another story (additional pleasure) called Blith Images. This is a shorter story of a model, Hilary Baxter, and a publisher, Bret Bardoff. It is another sweet story of romance between a power couple. Hilary is sighing over Bret because she thinks he only wants her for her good pictures. Bret is trying to find her work so that she stays near him. It is a sweet story.
So I recommend this two-in-one book. It will make you smile.
