My daughter received this toy for Christmas when she was one year old. It's very cute, and I remember how much I loved my Little People when I was young. I was excited to share that joy with my little one. The box says it is appropriate for ages one and up, and, as it turns out, that just isn't true. It's a cute toy, and it makes great, real-sounding animal noises, which is cool. And these days the animals have fuzzy hair and mohawks and adorable faces. But, as I suspected, a one-year-old just doesn't get it. Without the skills for pretend play, this is really just a mess waiting to happen. A bunch of plastic toys perfect for carrying all around the house until dropped and forgotten about. While these toys are great, I would wait to purchase them until your child is using his imagination regularly.
