Fisher Price Long Distance 900 M Hz Monitor By donnabc on - Updated Oct 15, 2011
It's been a long time since I had a baby monitor. And let me tell you they have come a long, long way! This particular model is used by a family I know. They are currently taking care of their aging bed bound mother who lives in her own home in between her two children.
While most of the time there is someone with this lady (either family or hired help), there are brief periods of time that they use the baby monitor to listen to her sleeping.
And let me tell you, this monitor's sound is crisp at the distance of about 1/2 of a football field away. The monitor's receiver comes with a belt clip and has the option of operating on batteries in case you want to sit outside or garden. Another great feature is that the monitor has a light that will tell you when you are out of range...really nice that you don't have to just guess that it is working :0)
And best of all the unit sells for under $50! An excellent investment that I have recommended to many other families in similiar circumstances.
Fisher Price 900 MHZ Monitor

We used one of these when my father-in-law who had alzheimer's was staying with us. Great revoew, thanks for suggesting this to those who are now in this situation.
I love the addition of the light so you know for sure that you are out of range.
What a great application of this product to give an older person just a little bit of independence instead of having someone hover.
Great alternative application for this product.
I think the light that lets you know you are out of range is a really great feature. I wish my monitor had that!
I agree wtih you kiddo-baby monitors really have come a long way! This particular one has some nice features!
Sounds like a great monitor. Wish we had one like this when our son was younger.
Real nice feature there : a light that will tell you when you are out of range...very innovative product . I like the price too, very affordable.
I like the out of range light feature, wish my monitor had that.
Sounds like a must have item for new parents
