Fixodent Powder Does Not Hold Teeth! By Bobbi Mckenney on - Updated Sep 18, 2011

My husband recently got upper and lower dentures. After healing and getting adjustments done the dentist said to use polydent or fixodent to help adhere his dentures to his gums. We decided that we would get some fixodent to help him. He tried the gel fixodent and really liked it. Then when he was running low I accidentally grabbed the fixodent powder off the self instead. Not realizing until we got home....He decided to keep it and try it. After all he like the other fixodent. This particular type of fixodent requires you to get your teeth wet and then sprinkle the powder on them. It then says to shake off the extra powder and insert your teeth. It claims that you will get an great fit, strong hold, and a air tight seal. Let me tell you that it is a farce! With the other type of fixodent he had no worries. With this powdered stuff this teeth just flopped out of his mouth while he was eating pudding! Sure the directions and statements on the package makes it sound easy and care free. Now only if they can perfect the product they might be on to something!
