Flea Protection For Pets For Less By HillaryM on - Updated Oct 15, 2011

My dog has never had an issue with fleas, but recently he started getting ticks. Up until recently I was using Advantage, but was short on funds and needed something more reasonably priced. I purchased Hartz Advanced Care 4 in 1 from Wal-Mart, because it seemed like a decent product and the price was right. While this product did cover my dog for fleas, ticks were still an issue. My dog still got a few ticks even with this product freshly applied. I also didn't like the way this product absorbed into the skin. Even with meticulous application the product didn't absorb completely. This left behind an oily residue in the fur, along with a strong chemical scent. Having used other products of this nature before, I know that this is not the norm. Personally, I will not use this product again. Using this product has convinced me that the more expensive varieties are well worth the money.
