Flor Carpet Tiles By thelooch on - Updated Oct 15, 2011
Having been familiar with FLOR from the catalogs we received over the past year, I decided to finally take the plunge and try this product. For those not familiar with it, FLOR is a carpet tile system which is supposed to be very easy to install and bears a number of eco-friendly characteristics. As this my first FLOR install, I was a little concerned about the claims of ease of install, particularly cutting the tile and whether or not the product would look cheesy (it looks great in the catalog butyou never know) My wife and I were expecting our third child at the time, so we decided to re-do our nursery. After picking our paint (color: Pumpkin Toast) and our crib bedding, we found that FLOR offered the perfect complementary colors in the Fedora collection. We used an alternating and random pattern of Chartreuse, Cayenne, Brick and Walnut, wall to wall and it turned out awesome. Installation was easy...maybe too easy because my wife is already making the list of the other rooms that will soon be converted to FLOR! In fact, we liked it so much, I have already done my office in it in another pattern. I'd highly recommend this to anyone looking for a unique, DIY flooring product.

Wow never heard of this but I like it. Thanks I am going to check into this. I want to redo my kitchen. Can you put this over tile or do you have to take what you have off? Thanks
Thank you for letting us know about FLOR! I am not familiar with this product but very interested after reading how well it has worked for you.
I've wondered about this type of flooring! It sounds like you have had a good experience with it! Thanks for sharing your experience with this product!
Thanks for sharing your experience, it sounds great.
Can you tell us more? $6.99 per square foot? I know there were carpet tiles in the 1970's that were pretty good. These sound much nicer though.
