$ For Child College For Free By BillF on - Updated Sep 18, 2011
I started a upromise account almost 10 years ago for my daughters college expenses. I only earned about $150 but just cost me less than a hours time ( I lost lots of earnings from not revising cards). You register your accounts and get a rebate for college education by shopping and eating at places you normally would anyway. They do offer to transfer money to a 529 account which make sense when the amount becomes 4 figure dollars and your recepiant has many years from college age. Neat option I used, You can also just withdraw the money and pay the college direct. The great deal about this is zero cost to you except a little time. The drawback is sometimes like me, you froget to update your cards and numbers and lose getting credit for buying name brands products at grocery store or paying for your some of your local favorite eating establishments. Overall, it is a no brainer if you have young childern potentially going to college in more than 5 years from now.

We must shop about the same. I signed up for this when it first started too and that's about how much I have in mine. Anything is better than nothing though.
hey guys, colleen from upromise here- here are some tips about how to save even more- download turbosaver which helps you remember all of our websites http:// www.upromise.com/turbosaver and when you shop online http:/shop.upromise.com- you don't need to use a registered credit card- any of your credit cards will do! Hope that helps and good luck saving.
Have had u promise over a year and have done pretty good with the college fund.
Heard about this program before. Will probably recommend it to people I know since I do not yet have kids myself.
