Ford Field: Detroit, Michigan By Kakoa on - Updated Oct 15, 2011
I have been a Detroit Lions fan since I was born! Growing up, my family would go see games in the original Silverdome stadium. Last year was the first year I was able to go watch a game at their new home, Ford Field. There is just no way to even compare the two stadiums...Ford Field is simply awesome!
There are many places to park all over the area, but we wanted to park somewhere close and secure. We did have to pay a good amount ($40 I think) to park at the actual stadium, but it was well worth it. We were able to park in a lot few people knew of and entered in a spot that had no line. We were one of the first people in the stadium!
The inside of the stadium is visually awesome. One whole side of the inside of the stadium encompasses a building that was already there. It is a brick building with windows, so the whole area looks like you are walking next to an outside brick building. There is a HUGE decorative Pepsi can at the main entrance end of the field. Our seats were right next to this thing! It was wonderful.
There are many different kinds of food and drinks at Ford Field. Not just the typical stadium food either. they have things like fancy deli subs, BBQ, a healthy food deli, and all your typical hot dogs, pizza, and burgers. Prices are a bit high, but that's normal for stadium food.
Our seats were in the middle section and were not as expensive as I thought they were going to be. They were great seats on the corner endzone, and we could see everything perfectly. I think maybe the upper lever higher seats would be a little harder to see from, but they still won't be too bad for the price. They do offer a family zone where people are not supposed to curse or act offensively. This would be great for the whole family!

Isn't this a fabulous stadium?! Now if we can just get those Lions to have a great season, all will be well in the universe!
A family zone? I am impressed. Poor Lions... yeah, don't let your emotional status depend on them!
Go Lions...well we can dream can't we?!!! I think this is an awesome stadium and very close to where I live. I agree the food is overpriced but what can you do? You aren't allowed to take in food with you or even bottles of water. No big purses or camera bags either. Love the Lions because they wear Honolulu blue ! The brick building is so cool. I really love that they didn't tear it down when they were designing the stadium.
SOunds like a very great place. I can not stand the Dome the vikings and twins play in. I can't wait until our new stadium opens up
Haven't been to Ford Field yet, but it sounds terrific. Now if we could just get Ford to sell the Lions, they might have a chance.
Now I am not saying that I am a Lions fan... but being a Boston fan, I can honestly say that there is something to be said for sticking with the team that you love... and one day... it will happen!
This sounds like a great stadium. Thanks for the great information.
