Fresh Water For Your Dog Automatically By Pogo on - Updated Oct 15, 2011

Our dog is an outdoor dog. That's not to say we don't let her come in, he just prefers to be outside about 80% of the time. Jake's water intake really increases in the warmer months and so to make sure he always had fresh water we picked him up theTrendy Home Automatic Watering Dog Bowl.

These come in different sizes but since Jake is a big dog (over 50 lbs); we bought the large size which holds 5 gallons of water. The Trendy Home Automatic Watering Dog Bowlis21.5" (H) x 10.5" (W) x 17.5" (D) with a beige base and bowl with a clear water reservoir.

How To Use The Trendy Home Automatic Watering Dog Bowl

1. Fill the water reservoir with water form the tap or the hose. This is one of the great things about this set up is that you can use regular tap water and the water is then filtered before the dog drinks it. You do need to replace the filters about every six months or so, depending on how much water the dog goes through and/or how many dogs are using it.

2. Place the filled reservoir onto the base. One thing that worth noting is the anti-spill valve, which prevents any spilling when being placed into the base. The bottle is made with dual-handles that makes it a lot easier to fill, carry and turn over and get the water bottle correctly into the base.

3. Plug into a standard electrical outlet. The cord is not very long which works fine for us as we keep it on the back patio, by his dog house which is right next to an outside outlet. I would be concerned if the cord was longer as the dogs might bite on it and/or a person could trip. That is all there is to it! The water will continually fill the bowl, as the dog drink from it. We have never had a problem with it splashing as it fills or over-filling the bowl. I want also to mention that the filtering system is very quiet which would be nice if it was kept inside your house or if your dog gets spooked easily.

This is a great Automatic Watering Dog Bowl that can help make sure your dog has fresh water available 24/7.

I use my Brita filter pitcher for my dog's water. I would really like one of these automatic watering bowls and I think he would too since the water would be constantly filtered not just when I first fill his water bowl.
