I purchased this air conditioner before the summer started. It was one of the best investments i made. I purchased it to put in my living room which is right next to my daughters bedroom. It is so good that on leaving it on 70 degrees it cools my living room and daughters room. It is also very good on the electricity bill. last year i was paying on average an additional $40 a month on electricity. I think that the timer on setting is great because i can set it to start up 30 minutes before i get home and i won't have to suffer in a house that is too hot. with other air conditioners that i have had in the past i would need to set it to start up 1 hour before i got home and it still would not be cool enough. With this one I only need a little time before i get home and then it will maintain a set termperature. It also helps that i can set it to turn off in teh middle of the night this way my daughter will not get too cold at night. I love that it has a remote control but to be honest with you i already have it set to turn on and off at certain times so i do not even use the remote control.
