From petite to tall, this store has it all!
By LJohnson onI am a very tall girl - 6'2" to be exact.And it appears that no one in the fashion industry realizes that there are tall females in this world!Even the "Tall" section at most department stores leave my ankle exposed, and that is NOT acceptable!
I have finally found the perfect store for my needs - New York and Company.They cater to all walks of life, including both petite, regular and tall sizes.They mainly feature work related clothing, but have a small line of casual clothing, sportswear, lingerie, shoes and accessories (bags, jewelry, belts, etc.).
The 7th Avenue Pant is my latest find at this store, I purchased the grey with white pinstripe color.This pant features a 34.5" inseam, which is great for my long legs.The pant has wide-leg bottoms, a crease up the front of each leg, and the pant fastens with a hidden button on the inside, then one of those hook closure things to secure the outside of the waistband.The fly is a zip fly, there is a hip pocket on each side, and the back features two back pockets.The fit of this pant is fabulous, I think it flatters my thigh and leg very well due to the wide leg bottom and the way the pant fits at the waist and hip.This pant is machine washable (as is most of NY&C clothing) and the poly/rayon fabric is very wrinkle resistant.I almost never have to iron their clothes after laundering, which is a huge time saver for me!
The one thing that I wish this pant featured is a bottom cuff, but that is just a personal preference and there are other styles available with that feature.Available in sizes 2-18, chances are pretty good that you'll find a pair to fit and flatter your body!
Love this store. You are right there aren't many stores that cater to tall woman. Thanks for the great information.
Goodness girl-I would imagine that it is tough to find pants that do not expose your ankles! Once you do find something that fits, you want to grab the same style in different colors!!

I used to think that I was tall... not anymore! ;-) I am glad that you did find a pant that fits you well! Nothing worse that having to resort to flood pants!
I am on the other end of the spectrum, I'm short & round, lol. I know what you mean about the fashipn industry not knowing anything tho! I don't need any large floral print smock-type shirts they keep putting out in my size, lol. I do like New York & company tho, they have some really nice plus size jeans (and they run a little big, so I'm always a size smaller in their brand, lol).
And I am really short! 5'1" (yep that 1 inch makes a lot of difference) and I have a hard time trying to find petite clothes that don't look childish. Since most petites fit 5'4" and under, I usually find that they are too long anyway. I'm going to check this store out. Thanks!
I love this place. I really love their sale items :D I got a wonderful down jacket from them. Good to know that their items work for women of all heights!

How I wish i can buy at those store too cos i am equally tall like you, getting blouse and dress is a big problem . thanks for those info.
