From Your Hair Stylist: American Crew Gel By Dave on - Updated Oct 15, 2011

American Crew is a hair gel that is only sold through professional hairstylists. I picked my bottle up at the local hair place and have used it when I wanted a gelled look.

The medium-sized bottle I got was like nine bucks, which was my only negative. I think the price was based on the haircutter's whims, though, so that may have been the factor, but I still docked it for value for price. I would be unhappy to go through a lot of this hair gel at $9 a pop.

I do perceive this is a higher-quality hair gel though.

This gel does a good job of holding styled hair tightly for a night out or other need, but I am iffy about using it for the whole day compared to a hairspray.

On a very positive note, the fragrance is really nice. It smells good compared to a lot of hair products, including shampoos or hairsprays. I'm not sure how they made it smell good, but this is one of this product's strong points. I suspect people around you will appreciate the smell too. The gel also washes out alright after using it.

Happily, American Crew is Made in the USA.
