Fuji Film Finepix S1000fd By Shamis Mcgillin on - Updated Oct 15, 2011
This is a great product, I am getting into photography and I bought this camera as a starter and I do not have much to say that is bad about this product!!
It has 10 mega pixels which is better than the average camera that has 6-7
12x optical soom
Face Tracking
Face Recognizer
Red Eye Removal
Cropping
Black and White photos
And it has a pop out flash with, forced flash, red eye and slow, restricted flash, or auto flash!
Camera Settings include : Auto,SP1(portrait), SP2(landscape), Natural, Program AE, Shutter Priority AE, Aperture Priority AE, Manual, Panorama, and even a Video setting!!
Panorama is a cool feature that allows you to take three different photos and the camera automatically stitches them together to give you a panoramic photo. The only downsides to this were that it wasn't always perfect in stitching them together, to avoid this I would recommend using a tripod, that is usually what I do! I also saw that this feature only used 3 mega pixels so the image you get isn't the biggest but for anyone that wants the ease of making a panoramic photo, this is the setting for you!
The camera is a little bulky so if you are looking for a stick thin camera, this is not for you..
The camera takes 4 AA batteries and will take either an SD or XD card. The internal memory holds either 10 photos or 30 seconds of video footage so I would look in to getting a memory card.
It comes with a lense cap, a strap, and an instructions manual.
I personally have had no problems with this camera and would recommend this to any amature photographer, there are better ones out there but this one you are getting your moneys worth!
