Fun 2 Learn? By cukal6 on - Updated Oct 15, 2011
My son received this for Christmas this past year because I thought it would be a really fun way to work on his shapes and letters. It is a desk with a screen that shows kids how to write their letters and draw their shapes. The idea is that they can sit at the desk and draw along as it's showing them. It also has a couple of little spots for crayons and a drink. There's a clock with hands they can move and it will tell the time. Then, you can flip the desk up and it becomes a piano and a couple of little drums. It plays music and your little one can play along. It's just the cutest thing I've ever seen and I was sure my son was going to love it.
I couldn't have been more wrong. He has played with it one time in the 6 months we've owned it. I don't know what it is but he just wants nothing to do with it. I think it's because he doesn't really like to sit still for long periods of time. If I turn the music part on, he'll dance for a little bit, but he definitely does not want to sit down and do the letters or shapes.
While I still think it's a great toy, you should make sure your child is the type that will sit and actually get some use out of it. Otherwise, it just sits there and you've wasted $50.

This sounds like a really fun toy. Sorry your son doesn't care for it.
Thanks for the information, I guess all kids are different :)
What is it with kids and toys? When we think our child might love something they may never touch it. We just spent a lot of money on a jumperoo and my 7mo old isn't spending much time in it. Probably would rather play with the box it came in. LOL
It's a shame your son didn't care much for this, it sounds like it would be fun, actually sounds like something my daughter would like, but with the reaction from your son, I'm may have second thought about my daughter. How old is your son?
