Fun For The Backyard Or The Beach! By traceyb22 on - Updated Oct 15, 2011
I've been looking for a small watering can for my 21-month-old, because I thought it would be fun for him to help water our the plants in our garden. I saw this one at Target recently and knew it was the one. This watering can is made of durable plastic and is shaped like a fish, which my sons loves. It's big enough to hold a good amount of water for him, but it's not too heavy for him to carry when full.
Now you're probably wondering why I have this listed in sand toys. Inside the watering can are three great sandbox or beach tools. It has a shovel, a trowel, and a sifter. These are also plastic and the perfect size for little hands. These are a great addition to my son's sand and water table. The watering can is also fun in the sand. He likes to use it to wet down the sand when he's playing with it. I know that this toy will definately be joining us on our annual beach trip this fall too.
If you have a little gardener at home or maybe an upcoming beach trip, the Summer Adventures Watering Can is a great, inexpensive toy that will provide lots of fun!

i was glad to read why you classified this as a sand toy. We had a set similar to this when my son was little too. We took it with us when we went to the beach. There he was able to go down to the wather and fill up the can. He then returned to the dry part of the beach where we were sitting and use the can to water the sand in order to make it wet enough to mold. We also had a bucket and he tried to use that to wet the sand but way too much poured out too fast and it made a mess so yes this does make a great sand toy, I agree.
What a fun toy! I bet your little one is really enjoying playing with it everywhere he goes!!
This sounds like a nice toy for kids to have. It is always the simple things that kids really love.
Sounds great, my daughter would love this, thanks for sharing.
We bought two sets for our boys when they were toddlers and thety loved them. each child had their own unique garden space and would use the watering can to tend their crops. But then they'd go to the sand box and have a ball digging and tunneling for hours.
Water and sand just can't be beat for creative fun, and that sand has to be damp, so this is absolutely a sand toy. Many happy castles to you!
Sounds like a cute toy! My daughter loves to help outside this would be great for her. Love the sandtoys inside!
I love the little garden toys. They are so cute. I plan to get my daughter some next year. This sounds like a lot of fun!
