I have mixed reviews about this product. We purchased this 3 years ago for our son and it has held up very well, I have not had to have it repaired, the screen has not beeen broke (unlike newer systems). I definitly thing its a durable system, However...There is one thing I really do not like and that is that the screen does not light up. You can only play this gameboy in direct light, or you may purchase accesories that you can attach to place light over the top of the screen. That has just been a pain for us- I would recommed saving your money and going with a newer version of the handheld nintendo gaming systems such as the gameboy advance SP, nintendo DS or nintendo DS lite. It has held up over the years but the screen quality is no good!
