GATEWAY FX Desktop Computer
By billtkatt onPurchased this three days ago, so I can only say what I know so far about it. Spend $1,300 for the Desktop unit, 19" flat screen monitor, and a printer.
We were looking at brands by HP, Alienwear and Gateway online and we were pretty much set on a HP. We still decided to go check out some stores and see what they had. Went into Best Buy and was checking out there selection when we saw the Gateway FX unit.
It had 640 Gig hard drive, 4 GB Ram and the NVIDIA 8800 overclocked video card. Also came with a 19" flat screen monitor and a cheap printer. I was looking for something that could do video editing and play video games smoothly. I wanted to stay away from ATI video cards as I always had bad luck with them.
So brought this unit home and hooked it up and was impressed right off the bat! Not being used to Vista, and hearing bad things about it, I was a little nervous at first. Upon trying it out and exploring through it, i'm impressed with the quality and the extras included with it.
This desktop also has quad core in it, so you can do many things at once, without any lag!
Ports on the front and the back are numerous so if you have anything to plug into the unit, you won't have any problems finding a open slot!

This sounds like such a nice desktop!! I had heard not so favorable things about Vista too but I love it!
Wow! I'm envious... 640 gb hard drive that's a lot!!..I wish I could find that same specs here.. nvidia 8800 is one of the best out there in the market.. great job for finding your desktop
I love my older Gateway. The things a tank! I'm impressed by the new Fx line and I hope to be able to get one these.
