Reviewing: Gatorland Orlando, Florida

Having been to Orlando many times over the years we finally decided to check this out on our last trip.

I am glad we did. I really did not know what to expect. I think I was expecting some redneck cheesy alligator show, but the staff was super friendly and the grounds were very well kept. The alligator's area look clean and spacious.

They have a train ride here, for an extra $2.00 per person but I personally did not think it was worth it. To tell you the truth we really did not see anything too thrilling. I guess the only good thing on this train ride is we were able to rest our feet for a bit.

The reptile shows are worth it though. We were able to fir all three shows in with some figuring of the times. My son's favorite show was the gator wrestling. It really wasn't gator wrestling, more about how to catch a gator, etc. The staff at these shows really know their stuff. I would not want their job, but they are fun to watch.
A lot of these shows are educational and teach you things about gators you might not know.

My family enjoyed the petting zoo area. I even thought it was cool petting an alligator!

I enjoyed the swapwalk. It's a beautiful, peaceful area. There is not any animals here, but it's suppose to be the Florida swamps. I thought it was a nice walk and some of the trees were pretty impressive.

Our favorite part was getting the chance to feed an alligator. It did cost $10 extra, but it was a lot of fun, my son, my husband and myself really enjoyed it. It's not everyday you get to feed an alligator.

I am glad we took the time to check out this place. I do not know if we will visit every time we are in Florida, but it is definitely a nice change of pace from all the theme parks in Orlando.

I have lived in Orlando for the past 2 years now and have been meaning to get here. Hopefully I can soon, it sounds like a fun time, even if you only go once! Sounds like you definitely had an enjoyable experience. :o)
