Gatsby Moving Rubber By Helen Hoh on - Updated Oct 15, 2011

Back in the 80s, everyone wants their hair to look just like out of shower. That was the time the 'wet look' was the epitome of hair fashion. Everyone wanted to have wet hair. Fast forward 2 decades, wet look is a hair fashion felony. Worthy of capital punishment.

The hair look nowadays is natural looking with no trace of stickiness. Gatsby Moving Rubber Grunge Mat is a hair clay. The texture is in clay form and its hold is exceptional. Despite its commendable hold, it is never sticky and looks mat. It is not hard but manipulating your hair to various style is easy.

I'm not one who favors the punky look. I just want some wavy movement to my hair. This product does deliver. I scrunched my medium lengthed hair with the clay, and I get hair direction and curl without even perming my hair. In terms of hold, this clay win hands down over the popular gel form.

The fragrance is pleasant and light. One word of advice for ladies who want movement and direction to their hair, it is a good idea to use a hair moisturizer on your hair before using this product if you favor the soft natural look. This product won't leave a white powdery residue on your hair if you brush it after using the clay. But then, it is not a good idea to brush your hair after using this product. The idea is to scrunch your hair and make the hair movement natural.. not brushed or sleek.
