When my other phones stopped working well we decided it was time to buy new phones. While in a discount store we saw a good deal on the GE 5.8 GHz Four Handset Phone System. This phone is not only a telephone but it is also an answering machine. This phone features call waiting, caller ID, and a visual ring indicator. It features a large print display screen, has a 10 number memory, flash function and it is hearing aid compatible. This telephone system comes with four handsets.

The reason we bought this phone is that we liked that this phone had four handsets because this allowed us to have one in each of the four rooms that we needed a phone in. Another reason we bought this phone is the fact that it is a name brand phone. General Electric generally means quality products.

We got home and set this phone up. The setup was easy. The phones seemed to be working and continue to work for about three weeks. Suddenly, one handset quit working. Two days later a second hand set started disconnecting phone calls claiming the battery was low even though the phone sits on a charger constantly. Needless to say, we were not pleased with this phone and ended up getting another brand.

I don't know if all GE cordless phones are like this so we bought another brand.
