This week I purchased a GE window air conditioner. It is a 12,000 BTU and so far seems to be doing a very effective job. I like the fact that it is relatively quiet. The air conditioner is a nice, small size, but has a lot of cooling capacity to it. It comes with a remote, has three speeds, (high, medium and low) and has a timer and sleep mode, where it will run for a set number of hours and then shut off. It also has an Energy Saver feature. It took about an hour to install, my brother-in-law and husband took care of that aspect. I have always trusted GE products, have used many in the past, and I would recommend this unit for anyone looking for a window air conditioner. I have no complaints about this unit, so far it has been performing very nicely. I think the nicest feature is the fact that it really is relatively quiet. I appreciate that in an air conditioner, especially at night.
