Ge Universal Remote By rose33oo on - Updated Oct 15, 2011

I got this remote because it seemed like a good deal at the price we paid for it. The first one that we bought we ended up taking back because we thought it was broken. We got a new one to replace it and found out it was just the batteries that we were using. We had put used batteries in and it wouldn't work at all.

I would say this is a decent remote. I guess you get what you pay for. The code seems to reset if the batteries jiggle at all or for no reason at all. The light will just turn, and stay, red until you reset the code. It has been dropped a couple of times also. After the first time it fell on the floor the back that holds the batteries in broke so now we have to tape it to hold the batteries in.

I have programmed my Philips Magnavox television to it. I have also programmed my Orion VCR and a DVD player to it. There are tons of codes for all different makes of electronics. The options to program on the remote are TV, CBL/SAT. and DVD/VCR. It has codes for combo electronics too.

I would say if you just need a cheap, quick, fix that you could give this a try. It does what I bought it for and it is very simple to program, or re-program, when needed. If you are looking for something hi-tech I would say this isn't what you need. I love the universals because you can have one remote for everything you use.
